Scanaro
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July, 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Scanaro app. By downloading, installing, or using Scanaro, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app
Scanaro is a document scanner and OCR app for Android, published by Adeelius. It lets you scan documents with your camera, correct and crop them, extract text using on-device OCR, and save your work as PDFs. The app runs entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection.
License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Scanaro on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use, in accordance with these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
Your content
All documents, images, PDFs, and extracted text you create with Scanaro belong to you. Because Scanaro is fully offline, this content is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us or to any third party. You are solely responsible for your content, including keeping your own backups. We have no access to it and cannot recover it if it is lost, for example if you delete a document, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Scanaro only for lawful purposes. You must not use the app to scan, store, or process any material in a way that infringes the rights of others or violates any applicable law. You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or interfere with the app except to the extent permitted by law.
Intellectual property
The Scanaro app, its name, logo, design, and all related software are owned by Adeelius and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
Third-party services
Scanaro uses on-device technologies, including on-device machine learning for edge detection and text recognition, which run locally on your phone. Downloading the app is handled through Google Play, which is governed by Google's own terms and policies.
Disclaimer of warranties
Scanaro is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that scanning or text recognition results will be accurate or complete. You use the app at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Adeelius shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, Scanaro. Because your content is stored only on your device, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
Changes to the app and terms
We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. We may also revise these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Termination
These terms remain in effect while you use Scanaro. You may end them at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict of law principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
